Meet some of the graduates who work at Coloplast and learn more about their journeys.
I was initially attracted to this programme because of its setup. With experience in both a local subsidiary and at headquarters, I’ll have a greater understanding of the business, and gain skillsets essential to a great marketer. As a young adult just stepping into the business world, it is such a rare opportunity to start my career from a fairly “high” level. This program is an absolute fit for graduates with ambition.
Our consumers are very special, especially in the Chinese market. Ostomy patients or people with spinal cord injury are very delicate. You rarely meet them in your life, because they simply hide in their own home. This requires that every employee at Coloplast have a compassionate mind-set. You need to understand the consumers first before walking into their life to try and help them. Helping people is definitely the best part of my job.
Since I joined the company last year, I’ve already taken on many leadership roles. This enables me to grow very fast. Meanwhile, the program has also provided tons of learning opportunities from both the subsidiary level and from headquarters. These opportunities are very precious to young adults in their early 20s. If you are ambitious and looking for a promising future career, what are you waiting for?
A few months before graduation, I began looking for career opportunities in a variety of industries. When I found out about the Global Graduate Programme and everything it provided to its participants, I didn’t hesitate to sign up and join Coloplast. The two things that attracted me the most: the development of my leadership skills and the opportunity to work abroad in Denmark. I believe that these will be very important to my career development.
At Coloplast, our work involves breaking taboos and paradigms. And that is quite unique. Intimate healthcare can be a sensitive topic and we at Coloplast have the will to bring those discussions to life and listen to what our customers have to say.
By joining Coloplast you’ll have the opportunity to work in a fast growing and increasingly global company. With that comes many challenging and exciting projects and no one day is like another. As a graduate, you’ll have a real project to work on from day one. If you’d like to see the happy face of a patient when he/she uses your products, then I highly recommend you join us!
Opportunities to challenge myself, expanding my knowledge and developing my leadership skills, but most of all, quickly getting a holistic understanding of the company, were some of the things that attracted me to the Global Graduate program. I was also attracted by the rather long rotations of 18 months each, which would allow me to make a real contribution in each role and when on my international rotation really adapt to my new location. I am very sure the international rotation will help me challenge my own mind-set and bring great experiences and knowledge back home to be able to make informed decisions. Last, but not least, I was also attracted by how genuine the people I had met from Coloplast seemed to be and the way they talked about their company.
One of the things that makes Coloplast special is the emphasis put on creating and maintaining a broad internal network across company functions. Knowing people from all over the business is not only fun, but also very beneficial for the company in the way that it helps us to work smarter and as one. This enables us to make decisions that are beneficial for the company as a whole, not only for our own departments or parts of the business. Furthermore, Coloplast has a culture that encourages curiosity, drive and ambition – which not only makes it a great place to work, but also shines through in our innovations.
The best advice I can give to other graduates is to take some time to think about what you are looking for in a job, career or just in life after university. For me, some of the most important parts of looking for a future employer was finding one with values I could relate to and share, which also meant finding a company where I would like to build a career. For graduates looking to be challenged and grow fast, Coloplast is a great place to be. It is an organisation that encourages you to develop and to be curious. The company is both global and growing which creates vast possibilities for us as employees. A great asset for all graduates here is the graduate network, meeting at least once a month and focusing on knowledge sharing between employees from all different parts of the company.
Three main things attracted me to the Global Graduate Programme. First, the opportunity to have a global career and be able to learn how business is conducted and how Coloplast works both at headquarters and a subsidiary level. Second, the length of the programme – 18 months on each rotation are optimal not only to learn about the given tasks and the organisation in depth but also to be able to use this knowledge to have a meaningful impact on the way the company works. Last, but not least, the idea of developing my leadership potential every day by being challenged in many ways.
What is unique about Coloplast to me is the passion and devotion that everyone here shares to make a real difference in people’s lives. The actions we take every single day are driven by our passion to have a meaningful impact and be there for our customers.
There are many reasons why graduates should join Coloplast. If you want to get out of your comfort zone, take on responsibility from day one and be challenged on a daily basis; if you are looking for a place for personal development; if you want to be part of a global company, working alongside talented colleagues that share one common goal – making a difference in people’s lives, then Coloplast is the place for you.
